     Sophia Horsfall was the daughter of Thomas Horsfall.1 She married Henry Bliss Crofton, son of Sir Malby Crofton, 2nd Bt. and Sarah Jane Parke, on 24 October 1856.1 She died on 23 July 1901.1
     From 24 October 1856, her married name became Crofton.1

     Robert Archdale Palmer was born on 21 November 1930.1 He is the son of Sir John Archdale Palmer, 7th Bt. and Kathleen Smith.2 He married Rosalie Margaret Newell, daughter of Keith Monk Newell, on 26 January 1963.1
     Robert Archdale Palmer was educated at Canford School, Wimborne, Dorset, England.1 He graduated from St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland, in 1951 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1952 in the service of the Royal Artillery.1
He was with the Civil Service of Uganda between 1955 and 1962.1 He was Senior Assistant Registrar between 1962 and 1989 at Birmingham University, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.1 He lived in 2003 at Dorhall Farm, Chaddesley Corbett, Worcestershire, England.1
