     Major Julius Arthur Sheffield Neave was born on 17 July 1919.1 He was the son of Colonel Richard Neave and Helen Elizabeth Mary Miller.2 He married Helen Margery Acton-Adams, daughter of Colonel Percy Morland Acton-Adams, on 25 April 1951.1 He died on 30 October 2008 at age 89.3
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 13th/18th Hussars.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1946, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1944.1 He was president of the Insurance Institute of London in 1976.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1978.1 He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.) in 1980.1 He was managing director of General Reinsurance Company between 1980 and 1982.1 He was director of Prudential Corporation plc between 1982 and 1992.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Essex in 1983.1 He was president of the Chartered Insurance Institute between 1983 and 1984.2 He was president of the Geneva Association between 1983 and 1986.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Essex between 1987 and 1988.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Brentwood.1 He lived in 2003 Mill Green Park, Ingatestone, Essex CM4 0JB.1

Colonel Percy Morland Acton-Adams1

     Colonel Percy Morland Acton-Adams was the son of William Acton-Adams.2 He married Alice Mary Neave, daughter of Francis Digby Spencer Neave and Eliza Marianne Cormack, on 6 April 1904.3 He died on 23 November 1927.3
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the New Zealand Mounted Rifles.4 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) [New Zealand]4 He lived at Clarence Reserve, Kaikoura, New ZealandG.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1

     From 25 April 1951, her married name became Neave.
