     Oliver Holland Gilbey was born on 8 June 1894.1 He was the son of Colonel Alfred Gilbey and Beatrice Elizabeth Holland.2 He married Violet Elizabeth Gertrude Burrows, daughter of Thomas Burrows, in 1926.1 He died on 3 May 1971 at age 76.1
     Oliver Holland Gilbey was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He fought in the First World War, with the The Blues.1
