     Lt.-Col. Augustus Joseph Sykes was born on 12 April 1831.1 He was the son of Reverend William Sykes and Anna Maria Heath Gattey.2 He died on 28 April 1884 at age 53.1
     Lt.-Col. Augustus Joseph Sykes gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 4th KOR.1

     Reverend John Heath Sykes was born on 22 April 1834.1 He was the son of Reverend William Sykes and Anna Maria Heath Gattey.2 He married Frances Amelia Nind, daughter of Reverend Phillip Henry Nind, on 12 August 1862.1 He died on 26 March 1912 at age 77.1
     Reverend John Heath Sykes graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was the Rector at Billesley, England.1 He was the Vicar at Haselor, Warwickshire, England.1

     Francis William Sykes was born on 21 May 1864.1 He was the son of Reverend John Heath Sykes and Frances Amelia Nind.2 He married Beatrice Agnes Webb, daughter of Edward Webb, on 25 April 1905.1 He died on 14 March 1945 at age 80.1
     Francis William Sykes fought in the Matabele War in 1896.1 He fought in the Boer War in 1900.1 He was Commissioner under British South Africa Company between 1901 and 1906 at Livingstone, Zimbabwe.1

     Sir Francis Godfrey Sykes, 9th Bt. was born on 27 August 1907.3 He is the son of Francis William Sykes and Beatrice Agnes Webb.2 He married, firstly, Eira Betty Badcock, daughter of George Wallace Badcock, on 25 July 1934.3 He married, secondly, Nesta Mabel Sykes on 16 September 1972.3 He married, thirdly, Ethel Florence Liddell, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Sinclair Liddell, on 9 February 1984.3 He died on 19 April 1990 at age 82.3
     Sir Francis Godfrey Sykes, 9th Bt. was educated at Blundell's School, Tiverton, Devon, England.3 He was educated at Nelson College, Nelson, New Zealand.3 He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Sykes, of Basildon, Berks [G.B., 1781] on 17 March 1956.1
