     Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 1st Bt. was born in 1645.1 He was the son of Alexander Jardine of Applegirth.2 He married Lady Margaret Douglas, daughter of James Douglas, 2nd Earl of Queensberry and Lady Margaret Stewart, before 1675.1 He died in 1689, by.1
     Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 1st Bt. succeeded to the title of 1st Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [Nova Scotia] on 25 May 1672, with a special remainder to his heirs male whatsoever.1

     Sir John Jardine of Applegirth, 3rd Bt. was born in 1683.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 1st Bt. and Lady Margaret Douglas.2 He married, firstly, Catherine Lockhart, daughter of Sir James Lockhart of Carstairs, in January 1712.1 He married, secondly, Jean Charteris, daughter of William Charteris of Brigmuir, in 1721.3 He died in 1737.3
     Sir John Jardine of Applegirth, 3rd Bt. succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [N.S., 1672] circa February 1699.1 He also had four daughters by his second wife.1

     Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 4th Bt. was born in 1712.1 He was the son of Sir John Jardine of Applegirth, 3rd Bt. and Catherine Lockhart.2 He died in December 1790 at Brussels, Belgium, unmarried.1
     Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 4th Bt. succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [N.S., 1672] in 1737.1 He was Roman Catholic.3 He entered military service abroad.1 He was decorated with the award of Knight, Soveriegn Military Order of Malta.3
