Major John Francis Houstoun-Boswall was born on 31 May 1895.1 He was the son of Alfred Houstoun-Boswall and Emmeline Charlotte Frances de Winton.2 He married Cecil Marjorie Gwyer, daughter of Charles James Gwyer, on 11 August 1951.1 He died on 20 November 1963 at age 68, without issue.1
Major John Francis Houstoun-Boswall was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 1st Royal Dragoons (Special Reserve).1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of South Australia between 1920 and 1922.1 He fought in the Second World War.1

Sir Thomas Houstoun-Boswall of Blackadder, 7th Bt. was born on 13 February 1919.1 He was the son of Sir Gordon Houstoun-Boswall of Blackadder, 6th Bt. and Daisy Copeland Waller.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Bullen-Smith, daughter of George Bullen-Smith, on 7 May 1945.1 He married, secondly, Anne-Lucie Naquet, daughter of Pierre Naquet, in 1971.1 He died on 16 May 1982 at age 63.1
