     Lt.-Col. Sir Raleigh Grey was born on 24 March 1860.¹ He was the son of Alfred Grey and Christina Henrietta Victoria Jones.² He married Mary Isabel Cadogan, daughter of Cadogan Hodgson Cadogan, on 10 July 1901.¹ He died on 10 January 1936 at age 75.¹
     Lt.-Col. Sir Raleigh Grey gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the service of the 6th Dragoons.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1896.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the South Rhodesian Volunteers.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Rhodesia].¹ He was invested as a Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1910.¹ He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1919.¹

     Captain unknown Bettesworth married Lady Hannah Althea Whitbread, daughter of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey, on 24 August 1807.¹ He died on 25 May 1808, killed in action off Bergen.¹
     Captain unknown Bettesworth gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the Napoleonic Wars.¹
