Captain Arthur Courtenay Stewart was born on 1 May 1871.1 He was the son of Charles Patrick Stewart and Frances Anne Cruttenden.2 He married Gwendolyn Marion Story, daughter of Waldo Story, on 18 January 1911.1 He died on 19 February 1958 at age 86.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was Naval Attaché to Rome between 1910 and 1913.1 He was awarded the Commander, Crown of Italy.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.1
