Lady Mary Fortescue was born on 15 September 1792 at Filleigh, Devon, England.3 She was the daughter of Hugh Fortescue, 1st Earl Fortescue and Hester Grenville.2 She married Sir James Hamlyn-Williams, 3rd Bt., son of Sir James Hamlyn-Williams, 2nd Bt. and Diana Anne Whitaker, on 15 February 1823.1 She died on 12 August 1874 at age 81 at 39 Portland Place, London, England.1,3

Sir James Hamlyn-Williams, 3rd Bt. was born on 25 November 1790 at London, England.1 He was the son of Sir James Hamlyn-Williams, 2nd Bt. and Diana Anne Whitaker.1 He married Lady Mary Fortescue, daughter of Hugh Fortescue, 1st Earl Fortescue and Hester Grenville, on 15 February 1823.2 He died on 10 May 1866 at age 75.2 He was also reported to have died on 10 October 1861 at Clovelly, Devon, England.1
Sir James Hamlyn-Williams, 3rd Bt. was also known as 3rd Baronet Hamlyn, of Edwinsford and Clovelly.3 He fought in the Peninsular Wars, with the 7th Hussars.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthenshire between 1831 and 1832.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthenshire between 1835 and 1837.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire in 1848.1 His last will was dated 21 December 1858.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
