     Trevor Stannus was born in 1798.1 He was the son of Captain Thomas Stannus and Caroline Hamilton.1 He married Caroline Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of Charles Hamilton.1 He died in May 1844.1
     Trevor Stannus gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 97th Regiment.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Ceylon, Sir Wilmot Horton, Bt.1

     Caroline Elizabeth Hamilton was the daughter of Charles Hamilton.1 She married, firstly, Trevor Stannus, son of Captain Thomas Stannus and Caroline Hamilton.1 She married, secondly, Reverend John William Finlay in 1849.1 She died on 31 May 1909.1
     Her married name became Stannus.1 From 1849, her married name became Finlay.1
