Lt.-Col. John Edward Blakeney was born on 20 December 1866.1 He was the son of Rev. Canon Richard Paul Blakeney and Elizabeth Bibby.1 He married Louisa Margaret Mosse, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lorenzo N. Mosse, on 28 February 1899 in a childless marriage.1 He died on 17 January 1961 at age 94.1
