     Lt.-Col. Horace Mackenzie Smith was the son of Henry Smith.1 He married Margaret Esther Hamilton Beamish, daughter of Rear-Adm. Henry Hamilton Beamish and Blanche Georgina Hughes, on 9 March 1904, leaving issue.1 He died on 24 January 1945.1
     Lt.-Col. Horace Mackenzie Smith gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry.1 He was invested as a Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1

     Percy Smyth Beamish was born on 23 July 1835.1 He was the son of Reverend Henry Hamilton Beamish and Anne Isabella Spread.1 He married, firstly, Ada Nuenburg Smith, daughter of Bright Smith.1 He married, secondly, Frances Emily Ormsby, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John William Ormsby and Emily Lavinia Knox, in 1875.1 He died on 11 December 1908 at age 73.1
     Percy Smyth Beamish was employed by the Admiralty.1 He lived at Casa Santa Croce, Alassio, Italy.1
