George Wray was the son of Reverend Guy Atkinson and Jane Wray.1 He married Leonora Wray, daughter of Jackson Wray, in 1797, they had other issue in addition to those listed below.1
George Wray was baptised with the name of George Atkinson.1 On 1809 his name was legally changed to George Wray when he assumed surname and arms of Wray by Royal Licence.1
