Baroness Bertha Maximiliana Zais Edelstein was the daughter of Baron Zois Edelstein.1 She married William Charles Heaton-Armstrong, son of Lieutenant John Heaton-Armstrong and Josephine Thérèse Mayr-Melnhof, on 7 September 1885 at Veldes, Austria.1,2 She died on 10 December 1949.1

Major William Duncan Francis Heaton-Armstrong was born on 29 September 1886 at Veldes, Austria.1,2 He was the son of William Charles Heaton-Armstrong and Baroness Bertha Maximiliana Zais Edelstein.1 He married Thelma Eileen Scott, daughter of Hon. Robert Steele Scott, on 29 December 1920.1 He died on 1 May 1969 at age 82.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, he was mentioned in despatches.1 In 1914 seconded under the Foreign Office, assigned to be the Private Secretary and Aide-de-Camp for Prince William of Albania.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1914 in the service of the Albanian Army.1 He was interned in Germany between 1914 and 1916, he was released on exchange and mentioned in despatches.1 He succeeded to the title of Lord of the Manor of Roscrea [feudal baron] in 1917.3 He was the Gold Staff Officer at the Coronations in 1937 and in 1953.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 3rd Battalion Lancaster Fusiliers.1
