     Charles Stewart Murray was born on 10 January 1900.1 He is the son of Charles Stewart Murray and Laura Susan Prestage.2 He married, firstly, Beryta Allport, daughter of Roland Allport, in March 1926.1 He and Beryta Allport were divorced in 1933.1 He married, secondly, Alice Mary Matthews, daughter of Robert Matthews, on 18 December 1937.1 He died in 1950.1
     Charles Stewart Murray gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1919.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force.1
