     Alastair Donald Stewart Murray was born on 17 May 1898.¹ He was the son of Charles Stewart Murray and Laura Susan Prestage.² He married, firstly, Joan Ethel McMohan, daughter of Robert Moore McMohan, on 7 November 1922.¹ He married, secondly, Marjory Thomson, daughter of Captain Anthony Standidge Thomson, on 3 August 1933.¹ He and Marjory Thomson were divorced in 1948.¹ He married, thirdly, Oona Tighe Tait, daughter of Thomas Tait, in 1951.¹ He died in 1966.¹
