     John Osmaston was born on 21 June 1831.2 He was the son of Francis Wright and Selina FitzHerbert.2 He married, firstly, Emily Sophia Plumptre, daughter of Reverend Henry Western Plumptre and Eleanor Bridges, on 23 June 1853.3 He married, secondly, Florence Mary Rice, daughter of Edward Royds Rice and Elizabeth Knight, on 19 December 1861.4 He died on 1 November 1901 at age 70.4
     He was given the name of John Wright at birth.4 On 8 September 1876 his name was legally changed to John Osmaston by Deed Poll.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Derbyshire.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.3 He lived at Osmaston Manor, Derbyshire, EnglandG.5 He lived at Hawkhurst Court, Hawkhurst, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.3

     Eleanor Agnes Osmaston was the daughter of John Osmaston and Emily Sophia Plumptre.2,3 She married Commander John Pemberton Plumptre Coote, son of Rev. Sir Algernon Coote, 11th Bt. and Cecilia Matilda Plumptre, on 26 December 1880.1 She died on 17 March 1925.1
     From 26 December 1880, her married name became Coote.

     Lt.-Col. Mervyn Chidley Coote was born on 5 June 1885.1 He was the son of Commander John Pemberton Plumptre Coote and Eleanor Agnes Osmaston.2 He married Cecil Maud Vera Park, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Cecil William Park, on 10 July 1915.1 He died on 18 August 1950 at age 65.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 4th Hazara Pioneers, Indian Army.1
