Sir Francis Ashmole Cooper, 4th Bt. was born on 9 August 1905.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Ashmole Cooper, 2nd Bt. and Alice Elizabeth Priestland.2 He married Dorothy Frances Hendricka Deen, daughter of Emile Deen, on 8 July 1933.1 He died in 1987.1
He was educated at Lancing College, Lancing, Sussex, England.1 He graduated from London University, London, England, in 1936 with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1942 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Chemical Engineers (M.I.Chem.E.).1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Cooper, of Shenstone Court, Shenstone, co. Staffs [U.K., 1905] on 8 June 1970.1
