Sir Astley Paston Cooper, 2nd Bt. was born on 13 January 1798.1 He was the son of Reverend Samuel Lovick Cooper and Sarah Leman Rede.2 He married Elizabeth Harriet Rickford, daughter of William Rickford and Mary Vanderhelm, on 29 November 1821.1 He died on 6 January 1866 at age 67.
He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Cooper, of Gadebridge, co. Herts [U.K., 1821] on 12 February 1841.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1864.1
