     George Edward Stapleton Cotton was born in 1888.1 He was the son of Reverend James Stapleton Cotton and Louisa Jessie Campbell.2 He married Lillie Price, daughter of William Henry Price, in 1918.1 He died, without issue.1
     George Edward Stapleton Cotton gained the rank of despatch rider in 1914 in the service of the 1st Canadian Contingent.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1917.1
