Sir Nicholas Conway Colthurst, 4th Bt. was born in January 1789.1 He was the son of Sir Nicholas Colthurst, 3rd Bt. and Harriet La Touche.2 He married Elizabeth Vesey, daughter of Colonel George Vesey and Emily La Touche, on 11 November 1819.1 He died on 22 June 1829 at age 40.1
He had two other sons and a daughter.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Colthurst, of Ardum, co. Cork [I., 1744] in July 1795.1 He was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 68th Foot.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the City of Cork between 1812 and 1829.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Cork Militia.1
