Sir Richard Booth was born in 1626.2 He is the son of Robert Booth and Anne Mosley.2 He married, secondly, Susannah Oxenden, daughter of Sir Henry Oxenden, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Meredith.2 He married, firstly, Mary Potts, daughter of Spencer Potts, in 1657.2 He died in 1680.2
Sir Richard Booth was educated at Manchester Grammar School, Manchester, Lancashire, England.3 He was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.3 He was admitted to Gray's Inn in 1649 entitled to practice as a barrister-at-law.2 He held the office of Judge of the Court of Common Pleas [Ireland] in 1660.2 He was invested as a Knight in 1668.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas [Ireland] in 1669.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of the King's Bench [Ireland] in 1679.2
