Hon. John Kennedy was born in 1771.1 He was the son of Captain Archibald Kennedy, 11th Earl of Cassillis and Anne Watts.1 He married Charlotte Gill, daughter of Lawrence Gill, in 1800.1 He died on 7 August 1859.1

Admiral Sir William Robert Kennedy was born on 4 March 1838.1 He was the son of John Kennedy and Amelia Maria Briggs.1 He married Edith Louisa Stopford, daughter of Captain Edward Stopford and Julia Maria Wilbraham, on 11 June 1868.1 He died on 9 October 1916 at age 78.1
He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the East Indies between 1892 and 1895.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Nore between 1900 and 1901.1
