     Godfrey Garrett Campbell was born on 28 June 1934.1 He is the son of John Dermot Campbell and Josephine Patricia McConnell.2 He married Margaret Elizabeth Read, daughter of Lt.-Col. Leopold John Douglas Read, on 3 July 1966.1
     Godfrey Garrett Campbell usually went by his middle name of Garrett.3 He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He was commissioned in 1952, in the service of the 1st King's Dragoon Guards.3 He gained the rank of Captain between 1954 and 1963 in the service of the North Irish Horse (Territorial Army).1 He was a director of Henry Campbell & Company Ltd between 1957 and 1972.4 He lived at Mossley, County Antrim, Ireland.4 He was chairman of Henry Campbell Group Ltd between 1972 and 1981.3 He lived in 1976 at Ash Farm, Ballytresna, Randalstown, County Antrim, Ireland.4 He lived in 2003 at Walden House, Stonor, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England.1
