     Sir Frederick William Leith-Ross was born on 4 February 1887 at Mauritius.2 He was the son of Frederick William Arbuthnot Leith-Ross and Sina van Houten.2 He married Prudence Staples, daughter of R. J. Staples, in 1912.2 He died on 22 August 1968 at age 81 at St. Olave's, Ramsey, Isle of Man.2
     He was educated at Merchant Taylors' School, London, England.2 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1925.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1930.2 He was chief economic advisor to the government in March 1932.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1933.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1937.1 He was Director-General of the Ministry of Economic Warfare in 1939.2 He was governor of the National Bank of Egypt between March 1946 and 1951.2

     Prudence Leith-Ross was born in 1922.2 She was the daughter of Sir Frederick William Leith-Ross and Prudence Staples.3,4 She married Sir John Edmund Cradock-Hartopp, 9th Bt., son of Francis Gerald Cradock-Hartopp and Elizabeth Ada Mary Stuart, on 29 April 1953.1 She died on 28 June 2016.5
     From 29 April 1953, her married name became Cradock-Hartopp. She lived in 1999 at The Cottage, 27 Wool Road, London, EnglandG.1
