     John Trollope, 1st Baron Kesteven was born on 5 May 1800.1 He was the son of Sir John Trollope, 6th Bt. and Anne Thorold.1,2 He married Julia Maria Sheffield, daughter of Sir Robert Sheffield, 4th Bt., on 26 October 1847.1 He died on 17 December 1874 at age 74.1
     John Trollope, 1st Baron Kesteven was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 10th Hussars.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Trollope, of Casewick, co. Lincoln [E., 1642] on 28 April 1820.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1825.1 He was Captain 10th Hus, Member of Parliament (M.P.) (C) S Lincoln , Pres Poor Law Board 1852, Custos Rotulorum Soke of Peterborough in 1841.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Lincolnshire between 1841 and 1868.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1852.1 He held the office of President of the Poor Law Board in 1852.1 He was created 1st Baron Kesteven, of Casewick, co. Lincoln [U.K.] on 15 April 1868.1 He also had two daughters.1

     Sir John Trollope, 6th Bt. was born in 1766.3 He was the son of Thomas Middleton Trollope and Isabella Thorold.2 He married Anne Thorold, daughter of Henry Thorold, on 24 March 1798.3 He died on 28 April 1820.1
     Sir John Trollope, 6th Bt. succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Trollope, of Casewick, co. Lincoln [E., 1642] on 13 May 1789.3 He had another daughter, who died unmarried.3

     Julia Maria Sheffield is the daughter of Sir Robert Sheffield, 4th Bt.1 She married John Trollope, 1st Baron Kesteven, son of Sir John Trollope, 6th Bt. and Anne Thorold, on 26 October 1847.1 She died on 2 November 1876.2
     From 26 October 1847, her married name became Trollope.1 As a result of her marriage, Julia Maria Sheffield was styled as Baroness Kesteven on 15 April 1868.

     Major Hon. Robert Cranmer Trollope was born on 7 November 1852.1 He was the son of John Trollope, 1st Baron Kesteven and Julia Maria Sheffield.1 He married Ethel Mary Carew, daughter of Colonel George Henry Warrington Carew, on 22 October 1885.1 He died on 25 November 1908 at age 56.1
     Major Hon. Robert Cranmer Trollope gained the rank of Major in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Somerset.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset.2

     Thomas Carew Trollope, 3rd Baron Kesteven was born on 1 May 1891.2 He was the son of Major Hon. Robert Cranmer Trollope and Ethel Mary Carew.1 He died on 5 November 1915 at age 24, from wounds received in action on a transport off the Algerian coast, unmarried.2
     Thomas Carew Trollope, 3rd Baron Kesteven fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Lincolnshire Yeomanry.2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Kesteven, of Casewick, co. Lincoln [U.K., 1868] on 23 July 1915.2 He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Trollope, of Casewick, co. Lincoln [E., 1642] on 23 July 1915.3 On his death, his barony became extinct.2

     Lt.-Col.
