Sir Archibald Hurd was born on 13 August 1869.1 He was the son of William Hurd and Elizabeth Angier.1 He married, firstly, Anne Perrott Groser, daughter of Albert Groser, on 19 September 1895.1 He married, secondly, Beatrice Maude Stair, daughter of Alfred Stair and Elizabeth Anne Nield, in September 1947.1 He died on 20 June 1959 at age 89.1
