     Geoffrey Browne was the son of Sir Dominick Browne and Anastacia Darcy.2,3 He married Mary Lynch, daughter of Sir Henry Lynch, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Martin.1 He died on 14 January 1668.1 He died on 14 January 1668, with four younger sons (Martin, James, older than Ignatius.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.).4 Paul, Henry, younger than Ignatius).1 He was also known as Geffrey Browne.2 He lived at Carrabrowne, Oranmore, County Galway, Ireland.4 He was barrister Middle Temple , Member of Parliament (M.P.) (I Parl) Athenry 1639 and Tuam 1661, active memb Cncl Irish Confedn set up to oppose English rule 1647 and an envoy sent by them to the Duke of Lorraine 1652 in 1627.1 In 1660 in was declared rightful owner of 2,000 acres of his father's confiscated estates, including Carrabrowne.1
