     Elizabeth Douglas Grierson was born in 1779 at Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag, 5th Bt. and Margaret Dalzell.1 She married James Crichton of Friarscarse on 14 November 1810.1,2 She died on 11 October 1862.3
     From 14 November 1810, her married name became Crichton.1
