     Basil Shillito Cave was born on 14 November 1865.1 He was the son of Thomas Cave and Elizabeth Shallcrass.1 He married Mary Creighton McClellan, daughter of Reverend J. B. McClellan, in 1892.1
     Basil Shillito Cave was Consul General at Zanzibar.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1897.1 He was Consul General at Algiers.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.).1

     Mary Creighton McClellan is the daughter of Reverend J. B. McClellan.1 She married Basil Shillito Cave, son of Thomas Cave and Elizabeth Shallcrass, in 1892.1
     From 1892, her married name became Cave.1

     Kenneth McClellan Cave was born on 16 August 1893.1 He was the son of Basil Shillito Cave and Mary Creighton McClellan.1 He married Joyce Shore on 5 April 1916.1
     Kenneth McClellan Cave gained the rank of Brevet Major in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.).1
