     Dermot Somerset Launcelot Butler was born on 3 April 1941.1 He is the son of Hon. Guy Somerset Lionel Butler and Patricia Ann Dunne.2 He married, firstly, Lorna Ailsa Graham Menzies, daughter of Major Ian Graham Menzies, in 1970.1 He and Lorna Ailsa Graham Menzies were divorced in 1983.1 He married, secondly, Victoria Marsland Owen, daughter of John Lloyd Owen, in 1986.1
     Dermot Somerset Launcelot Butler was educated at Tonbridge School, Tonbridge, Kent, England.1 He was educated at Quintn School, England.3 He lived in 2003 at Prospect House, Newcastle, County Wicklow, Ireland.1
