     Major Derrick Alfred Carden was born on 27 March 1875.1 He was the son of Sir John Craven Carden, 4th Bt. and Julia Isabella Robinson.2 He died on 25 May 1915 at age 40, from wounds received in action.1
     Major Derrick Alfred Carden fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonle in the service of the 7th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1 He was Major.1
