     Hon. Elizabeth Townshend was the daughter of Charles Townshend, 2nd Viscount Townshend of Raynham and Hon. Elizabeth Pelham.1 She married Charles Cornwallis, 1st Earl Cornwallis, son of Charles Cornwallis, 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye and Lady Charlotte Butler, on 28 November 1722.2 She died on 1 December 1785.1
     As a result of her marriage, Hon. Elizabeth Townshend was styled as Baroness Cornwallis of Eye on 28 November 1722. From 28 November 1722, her married name became Cornwallis.2 As a result of her marriage, Hon. Elizabeth Townshend was styled as Countess Cornwallis on 30 June 1753.

     Captain Christopher Michael Cadogan was born on 4 February 1917.1 He was the son of Commander Francis Charles Cadogan and Ruth Evelyn Howard.2 He married Stella Irena Zilliacus, daughter of Konni Zilliacus, on 11 July 1940.1 He died in June 1941 at age 24, drowned on active service off Cyprus.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1938 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Berkshire Regiment.1

     Charles Cornwallis, 1st Earl Cornwallis was born on 29 March 1700.1 He was the son of Charles Cornwallis, 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye and Lady Charlotte Butler.1,2 He married Hon. Elizabeth Townshend, daughter of Charles Townshend, 2nd Viscount Townshend of Raynham and Hon. Elizabeth Pelham, on 28 November 1722.1 He died on 23 June 1762 at age 62.1
     He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Cornwallis [E., 1627] on 20 January 1721/22.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baron Cornwallis of Eye, Suffolk [E., 1661] on 20 January 1721/22.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1740.1 He held the office of Constable of theTower of London between 1740 and 1762.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of the Tower Hamlets between 1740 and 1762.1 He succeeded to the title of 1st Viscount Brome, of co. Suffolk [Great Britain] on 30 June 1753.1 He was created 1st Earl of Cornwallis [Great Britain] on 30 June 1753.1

     Stella Irena Zilliacus was the daughter of Konni Zilliacus.2 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. David Rhys Ellias, son of Rhys Ellias, on 6 November 1943.1 She and Lt.-Col. David Rhys Ellias were divorced in 1955.1 She married, thirdly, Sir Geoffrey Arnold Wallinger, son of Captain William Arnold Wallinger, on 6 June 1958.1 She married, firstly, Captain Christopher Michael Cadogan, son of Commander Francis Charles Cadogan and Ruth Evelyn Howard, on 11 July 1940.1 She died on 2 February 1998.1
      From 11 July 1940, her married name became Cadogan. From 6 November 1943, her married name became Ellias.1 From 6 June 1958, her married name became Wallinger.1

     Charles Cornwallis, 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye was born in 1675.1 He was the son of Charles Cornwallis, 3rd Baron Cornwallis of Eye and Elizabeth Fox.1,3 He married Lady Charlotte Butler, daughter of Richard Butler, 1st Earl of Arran and Dorothy Ferrers, on 6 June 1699.1 He died on 20 January 1721/22.1
     He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Cornwallis [E., 1627] on 29 April 1693.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Cornwallis of Eye, Suffolk [E., 1661] on 29 April 1693.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Eye between 1695 and 1698.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk between 1698 and 1703.1 He held the office of Joint Postmaster-General between 1715 and 1721.1 He held the office of Paymaster-General from 1721 to January 1721/22.1 He had three other sons (one died unmarried) and three daughters, who all died unmarried.1
