     Eliza Stevenson was the daughter of Reverend J. Stevenson.2 She married, firstly, Arthur Beresford Cane before 1875.1 She married, secondly, Antoine Sloet Butler, son of Sir Thomas Butler, 8th Bt. and Frances Clarke, on 29 April 1875.1 She died on 3 December 1914.1
     From before 1875, her married name became Cane.1 From 29 April 1875, her married name became Butler.

     William Barnes was born on 29 November 1843 at St. Leonards, Exeter, Devon, England.1 He was the son of William Barnes and Lucy Long.1 He married Jessie Annie Long, daughter of Walter Jervis Long and Emily Jane Gale, on 6 October 1874 at Upham Church, Upham, Hampshire, England.1 He died on 27 March 1886 at age 42 at Exeter, Devon, England, from inflammation of the lungs.1
     William Barnes matriculated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 17 October 1862.1 He was a partner with Sanders & Company, Bankers at Exeter, Devon, England.1
