     Captain John Bayford Butler was born on 27 August 1832.1 He was the son of Captain Charles George Butler and Emily Bayford.2 He married Hon. Sybil Catherine Devereux, daughter of Robert Devereux, 15th Viscount Hereford, on 10 January 1867.1 He died on 3 October 1888 at age 56.1
     Captain John Bayford Butler gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Francis Algernon Butler gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 5th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment.1
