     James Butler was the son of William Paul Butler and Henrietta Nixon.² He married Maria Charlton, daughter of Reverend Charles Charlton.¹ He died on 2 February 1856.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Carlow.¹ He lived at Broomville, County Carlow, Ireland.¹

     Maria Charlton was the daughter of Reverend Charles Charlton.² She married James Butler, son of William Paul Butler and Henrietta Nixon.¹ She died on 18 September 1873.¹
      Her married name became Butler.

     William Paul Butler was born on 13 April 1817.¹ He was the son of James Butler and Maria Charlton.² He married Letitia Maria Gray, daughter of John Gray, on 28 October 1846.¹ He died in August 1861 at age 44.¹

     John Gray lived at Upton, County Carlow, Ireland.¹

     Letitia Maria Gray is the daughter of John Gray.² She married William Paul Butler, son of James Butler and Maria Charlton, on 28 October 1846.¹
      From 28 October 1846, her married name became Butler.

     Charles James John Butler was born on 24 October 1852.¹ He was the son of William Paul Butler and Letitia Maria Gray.² He married Elizabeth Frances Massy Bennett, daughter of George Lethem Bennett, on 16 March 1893.¹ He died on 6 February 1938 at age 85.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment.¹

     Elizabeth Frances Massy Bennett was the daughter of George Lethem Bennett.² She married, firstly, D. W. M. Testro before 1893.¹ She married, secondly, Charles James John Butler, son of William Paul Butler and Letitia Maria Gray, on 16 March 1893.¹ She died on 30 November 1933.¹
      From before 1893, her married name became Testro.¹ From 16 March 1893, her married name became Butler.

     Elizabeth Anne Butler was the daughter of William Paul Butler and Letitia Maria Gray.² She married Trevor Overend in 1879.¹ She died on 21 January 1945.¹
