     William Hay, 6th Earl of Erroll was born circa 1521. He was the son of William Hay, 5th Earl of Erroll and Elizabeth Ruthven.1 He married Lady Helen Stuart, daughter of John Stuart, 12th Earl of Lennox and Lady Elizabeth Stewart.1 He died on 11 April 1541.1
     He succeeded to the title of 6th Earl of Erroll [S., 1452] on 28 July 1522.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Lord Hay [S., 1430] on 28 July 1522.1

     unknown Stewart is the daughter of Murdoch Stewart, 2nd Duke of Albany.2 She married Archibald Campbell, Master of Campbell, son of Sir Duncan Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell and Lady Marjorie Stewart, before 1440.2
      From before 1440, her married name became Campbell.2

     Sir Colin Campbell, 1st of Glenorchy was the son of Sir Duncan Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell and Margaret Stewart.2 He married, firstly, Mariot Stewart, daughter of Sir William Stewart of Albany, before 1448.1 He married, secondly, Janet Stewart, daughter of John Stewart, 2nd Lord Lorn and unknown wife (?), circa 1448.1 He married, thirdly, Margaret Robertson, daughter of Robert Robertson of Struan, after 1448.1 He married, fourthly, Margaret de Stirveling, daughter of Lucas de Stirveling, before 27 October 1467.1 He died circa September 1475.1 He was also reported to have died on 24 September 1480.3 He was buried on 26 September 1475.1
      In 1432 he was granted Glenorchy and other lands in the barony of Lochow, by his father.1 He was also granted other lands, including the barony of Lawers, Perthshire, by King James III, for his services in capturing Thomas Chalmer, one of the assassins of King James I.1 He built Kilchurn Castle, in Glenorchy.1
     He was ancestor of the Campbells of Lawers, Glenlyon, Monzie, and Barcaldine.2
