Lt.-Col. John Goring was born on 27 June 1907.2 He was the son of Charles Goring and Gabrielle Beatrice Mary Alleyne.2 He married Lady Hersey Margaret Boyle, daughter of Captain Patrick James Boyle, 8th Earl of Glasgow and Hyacyinthe Mary Bell, on 24 July 1947.1 He died on 3 October 1990 at age 83 at Steyning, Sussex, England.2,3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre avec Palmes.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel between 1945 and 1946 in the Norfolk Yeomanry.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1948.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Chichester.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1964.2 He lived at Findon Park House, Findon, Worthing, Sussex, EnglandG.2
