     Sir William Bruce of Stenhouse, 2nd Bt. was born on 19 August 1621.1 He was the son of Sir William Bruce of Stenhouse, 1st Bt. and Rachel Johnston.1 He married Helen Douglas, daughter of Sir William Douglas, 9th of Cavers and Ann Douglas.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bruce, of Stenhouse [N.S., 1628] in February 1630.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1649 in the county of Stirling.2
