     Colonel Roger Gordon Thomson was born on 4 April 1878.2 He is the son of Maj.-Gen. David Thomson and Emily Lydia Birdwood.1,2 He married Florence Lucy Broughton, daughter of Maj.-Gen. William Edward Delves Broughton and Laura Margaret Lawson, on 7 April 1904.1
     He lived at Glastonbury, Somerset, England.3 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches five times and was wounded.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery.2

     Maj.-Gen. David Thomson was born in 1833.2 He was the son of General Harry Thomson.2 He married Emily Lydia Birdwood, daughter of General Christopher Birdwood, on 26 January 1867.2 He died on 23 March 1911.2

     Francis Delves Broughton was born on 6 March 1847.1 He was the son of General William Edward Delves Broughton and Anne Nugent.1 He married Edith Mary Hall, daughter of George Hall, before 1922.1 He died on 11 January 1922 at age 74.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 68th Regiment.1
