     Lt.-Col. Legh Harley Delves Broughton was born on 28 October 1873.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. William Edward Delves Broughton and Laura Margaret Lawson.1 He married Constance Johnson, daughter of George Randall Johnson, on 3 June 1903.1 He died on 15 May 1942 at age 68.1
     Lt.-Col. Legh Harley Delves Broughton fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dipatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1
