     Joan Altham was the daughter of Sir Edward Altham and Joan Leventhorpe.1 She married Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt., son of Sir William Smith and Bridget Fleetwood, before 1633.1 She died on 15 July 1658.1 She was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, EnglandG.1
     From before 1633, her married name became Smith.1

     Sir John Leventhorpe, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Edward Leventhorpe and Mary Parker.2 He married Joan Brograve, daughter of Sir John Brograve.2 He died on 23 September 1625.2
     He lived at Shingley Hall, Hertfordshire, England.2 He was created 1st Baronet Leventhorpe.

     Sir Edward Smyth, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 28 September 1637 at Thaxted, Essex, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt. and Joan Altham.1 He married Jane Vandeput, daughter of Peter Vandeput and Jane Hoste, on 6 May 1674.1 He died on 24 June 1713 at age 75.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 1 July 1713.1 He was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, EnglandG.1
     He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 4 February 1656/57.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Smith, of Hill Hall, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 5 May 1668.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Essex from 1680 to 1681.1 His last will was dated 24 July 1712.

     Jane Vandeput was born circa 1653.1 She was the daughter of Peter Vandeput and Jane Hoste.1 She married Sir Edward Smyth, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt. and Joan Altham, on 6 May 1674.1 She died on 28 July 1720.1 She was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, EnglandG.1 Her will (dated 5-9 July 1720) was proven (by probate) on 14 February 1720/21.1
     From 6 May 1674, her married name became Smyth.1
