     Maria Grimminck was born in 1560 at Roeselare, Belgium^G.² She married Sir James Boreel, son of Peter Boreel and Catherine Josse, on 19 August 1584 at Middleburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands^G.^3,2 She died on 15 February 1605/6 at Middleburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands^G.²
     From 19 August 1584, her married name became Boreel.¹

     Jacoba Carels married Sir William de Boreel, 1st Bt., son of Sir James Boreel and Maria Grimminck, on 22 September 1626.¹ She died on 17 June 1657 at Paris, France^G.¹
     From 22 September 1626, her married name became de Boreel.¹

     Lt.-Col. Sir John Boreel, 2nd Bt. was born on 29 October 1627.¹ He was the son of Sir William de Boreel, 1st Bt. and Jacoba Carels.¹ He married Amarantha van Vredenburgh on 7 November 1666.¹ He died on 29 March 1691 at age 63.¹
     He held the office of Marshal at the Court of the Prince of Orange, later King William III.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Dutch Army.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Boreel, of Amsterdam, in Holland [E., 1645] on 29 September 1668.¹

     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Boreel, of Amsterdam, in Holland [E., 1645] on 23 September 1710.¹ He gained the rank of Chief D'Escadral in the Portuguese Navy, roughly equal to a commodore.¹ He gained the rank of Contra Admiral in the Portuguese Navy, roughly equal to a rear-admiral.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Dutch Army.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Dutch Navy.¹

     Margaret van den Bosch married Lt.-Col. Sir Adrian Boreel, 4th Bt., son of Lt.-Col. Sir John Boreel, 2nd Bt. and Amarantha van Vredenburgh.¹ She died on 14 April 1726.¹

     James Boreel was born on 21 March 1630.^1,2 He was the son of Sir William de Boreel, 1st Bt. and Jacoba Carels.¹ He married Isabella Coymans on 26 February 1667.² He died on 21 August 1697 at age 67.¹
     He held the office of Dutch Ambassador to Russia.² He held the office of Ambassador from the United Provinces to France.¹ In 1697 he conducted peace preliminaries with France.²

     Isabella Coymans married James Boreel, son of Sir William de Boreel, 1st Bt. and Jacoba Carels, on 26 February 1667.² She died on 28 January 1705.²
     From 26 February 1667, her married name became Boreel.¹

     Sir Balthasar Boreel, 5th Bt. was born on 21 May 1673.¹ He was the son of James Boreel and Isabella Coymans.¹ He married Apollonia Rendorp on 17 December 1720.¹ He died on 28 June 1744 at age 71, without issue.¹
     He held the office of Counsellor Deputy of Holland.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Boreel, of Amsterdam, in Holland [E., 1645] on 15 July 1723.¹
