Major John Blakiston was born on 8 February 1785.1 He was the son of Sir Matthew Blakiston, 2nd Bt. and Anne Rochefort.1 He married Jane Wright, daughter of Reverend Thomas Wright, on 26 September 1814.1 He died on 4 June 1867 at age 82.1
Major John Blakiston gained the rank of Major in the service of the 27th Regiment.1 He lived at Mobberley Hall, Cheshire, England.1
