Young was born on 25 November 1867 at Pitcairn Island.¹ He was the son of Moses Young and Albina McCoy.¹ He married Margaret Eliza McCoy, daughter of James Russell McCoy and Eliza Coffin Palmer Young, at Pitcairn Island.¹ He married Margaret Augusta Young, daughter of William Mayhew Young and Margaret Christian, at Pitcairn Island.¹ He died on 28 July 1936 at age 68 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, in an accident.¹

     Anne Pink Young was born on 3 February 1889 at Pitcairn Island.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel H. S. Young and Margaret Eliza McCoy.¹

     Marion Emily Daisy Young was born on 9 April 1891 at Pitcairn Island.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel H. S. Young and Margaret Eliza McCoy.¹ She died at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.¹
