     John Adams Carr was born on 28 July 1916 at Norfolk IslandG.1,2 He was the son of Francis Holford Adams and Maria Madeline Christian.1 He married Mary Jane Nobbs, daughter of Benjamin ffrench Nobbs and Amy Quintal, on 11 January 1964 at Norfolk ISland.2 He died on 27 December 1995 at age 79 at Brisbane, Queensland, AustraliaG, without issue.1
     He was given the name of Alec Eustace Adams at birth.1 He was raised by Alexander Carr & Elizabeth Christian, and although he was not adopted, he did use their name.1 He gained the rank of Corporal in the Norfolk Island Infantry Detachment.2 On 1 July 1974 his name was legally changed to John Adams Carr.3
