     Elizabeth Gorges is the daughter of Sir Arthur Gorges and Lady Elizabeth Clinton.2,1 She married, firstly, Sir Robert Stanley, son of William Stanley, 6th Earl of Derby and Lady Elizabeth de Vere.2 She married, secondly, Theophilus Clinton, 4th Earl of Lincoln, son of Thomas Clinton, 3rd Earl of Lincoln and Elizabeth Knyvett.2 She died circa May 1675.2
     As a result of her marriage, Elizabeth Gorges was styled as Countess of Lincoln. Her married name became Stanley.1 Her married name became Clinton.2
