     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 68th Light Infantry.1 He fought in the Crimean War.

     Sir John Hesketh Lethbridge, 3rd Bt. was born in 1798.2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Buckler Lethbridge, 2nd Bt. and Jacintha Catherine Hesketh.2 He married, firstly, Harriett Rebecca Mytton, daughter of John Mytton, on 27 March 1817.2 He married, secondly, Julia Hoare, daughter of Sir Henry Hugh Hoare, 3rd Bt. and Maria Palmer Acland, on 15 March 1827.3 He married, thirdly, Anna Wright, daughter of Robert Wright, on 11 September 1855.3 He died on 1 March 1873.3
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Lethbridge, of Westaway House, Pilton and Winkley Court, co. Devon [U.K., 1804] on 17 October 1849.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Somerset.3
