Colonel Francis Knatchbull1

     Colonel Francis Knatchbull was born on 25 July 1832.1 He was the son of Reverend Wadham Knatchbull and Louisa Elizabeth Wyndham.1 He married Sarah Belinda Persse, daughter of Thomas Moore Persse and Margaret Hickman, on 25 July 1870 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1,2 He died on 2 December 1920 at age 88.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 1st Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.1 He fought in the Crimean War between 1854 and 1855.1

     Sarah Belinda Persse was born on 9 December 1848 at Newcastle House, County Galway, Ireland.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Moore Persse and Margaret Hickman.1,2 She was baptised on 20 January 1849 at Galway, County Galway, Ireland.2 She married Colonel Francis Knatchbull, son of Reverend Wadham Knatchbull and Louisa Elizabeth Wyndham, on 25 July 1870 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1,2 She died on 9 February 1947 at age 98.1
      From 25 July 1870, her married name became Knatchbull.1

     Major Wyndham Persse Knatchbull was born on 20 October 1873.1 He was the son of Colonel Francis Knatchbull and Sarah Belinda Persse.1 He married Sybil Mathilde Burke, daughter of Ulick Ralph Burke and Katharine Bateman, on 30 May 1911.1 He died on 28 January 1967 at age 93.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Horse Artillery.1

      From 30 May 1911, her married name became Knatchbull.1

     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He was Clerk of Peace for County Dublin.2 He was a practising barrister.2 He wrote the book A History of Spain.2

     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of E.R.A. in the service of the Submarine Service, Royal Navy.1
