William Brabazon, 1st Earl of Meath1

     William Brabazon, 1st Earl of Meath was born circa 1580.2 He was the son of Edward Brabazon, 1st Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee and Mary Smythe.1 He married Jane Bingley, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir John Bingley, in February 1607.2 He died circa 16 December 1651.2 He was buried on 19 December 1651.2
     He was appointed Knight in February 1603/4.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee, co. Louth [I., 1616] on 7 August 1625.1 On 8 February 1626/27 a King's Letter ordered that he should be created Earl of Carlow, but this was suppressed, and created Earl of Meath instead.1 He was created 1st Earl of Meath [Ireland] on 16 April 1627, with a special remainder to his brother Sir Anthony Brabazon.1

     He lived at South Queensferry, West Lothian, ScotlandG.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.1

     Sir John Leigh, 1st Bt. was born on 3 August 1884.2 He was the son of John Leigh.2 He married Norah Marjorie New, daughter of John Henry New, on 23 January 1908.2 He died on 29 July 1959 at age 74.2
     He was educated at Manchester Grammar School, Manchester, Lancashire, EnglandG.2 He was created 1st Baronet Leigh, of Altrincham., co. Chester [U.K.] on 9 February 1918.1 He was propreitor of the Pall Mall Gazette.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Clapham between 1922 and 1945.2

     Ethel May Bowater was born on 13 May 1896.1 She is the daughter of Major Sir Frank Henry Bowater, 1st Bt. and Ethel Anita Fryar.1 She married Captain William Olaus Charles Johnsen, son of W. M. Johnsen, on 5 February 1916.1
     Ethel May Bowater usually went by her middle name of May.2 From 5 February 1916, her married name became Johnsen.1

     Captain William Olaus Charles Johnsen was the son of W. M. Johnsen.1 He married Ethel May Bowater, daughter of Major Sir Frank Henry Bowater, 1st Bt. and Ethel Anita Fryar, on 5 February 1916.1 He died on 20 April 1960.1
     He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)1
